FUNDRAISING
Beginning in 1999 my service to Scouting has been largely in the Fundraising and Development area. I have been blessed to work with numerous committed volunteer teams over these past eighteen years. Together we have been able to raise millions of dollars to support the Character Education programs of Scouting. Successful and innovative campaigns have included FOS, Major Gifts, Endowment, Auctions, Dinners, Luncheons, Popcorn Sales, Sporting Clays Events, Golf Events and Receptions.
Developed a positive relationship with Stephen D. Bechtel, Jr. which resulted in $55 millions in gifts to Scouting.
Worked closely with the BSA National Foundation to facilitate the lead gift to the Bechtel Family Summit.
Secured a $2 million gift from a single donor.
Special Events increased 83% in 2016 and involved key community leaders such as Lloyd Dean (Dignity Health), Mario Alioto (San Francisco Giants) and Ed Traille (GALLINA LLP).
Established the Distinguished Citizen Dinner in the San Francisco Bay Area Council in 2005. Over the past 12 years this event has raised $2.8 million in net revenue. Honorees and Chairs have included some of our communities most prominent citizens.
Developed $16 million in direct and deferred endowment gifts including two $1 million gift.
Raised $11 million through Special Events.
Raised $5 million in capital gifts in the San Francisco Bay Area Council.
In the Grand Canyon Council between 2011 and 2014 raised $1 million from a single donor. Also the single Endowment gift in the history of the Council, $1.9 million was secured in 2014.
Consistently achieved all major financial goals.
Established the “Diversity Leadership Reception” and Whitney M. Young, Jr. Service Awards Dinner to honor community leaders in a variety of diverse backgrounds. These events have been held in three different Councils.
Established an event to honor an LDS Church leader. This event was held in 2010, 2011 and 2013 with a net of $230,000 in all three years combined.
